Case Engineered Lumber - About Us

Case Engineered Lumber, since it was founded in 1996, has grown into the leading specialty supplier of engineered lumber products in the eastern United States. The company operates several full-service, facilities where it designs and ships engineered lumber floor and roof systems to homebuilders and lumber dealers.

Engineered lumber has virtually replaced traditional lumber products such as 2x10's and 2x12's as floor joists, rafters, and beams in houses. Builders prefer engineered lumber such as wood I-joists and laminated veneer lumber because it can span further, carry greater loads, and eliminate squeaks and other framing problems common with dimension lumber.

Company founder and CEO, Kevin Case, opened his first branch on less than 2 acres in Suwanee, Georgia on April 1, 1996. Operating out of a hillside lumberyard and equipped with one forklift and delivery truck, Case began selling wood I-joist floor systems to custom builders in the Atlanta area. In the years since, we have significantly upgraded our capabilities with specialized delivery equipment and computer operated saws. We also have expanded our geographic coverage with the addition of several facilities throughout the Southeast and Midwest. We have broadened our product line to include other structural frame products such as roof trusses. A point of pride for us is that most of the builders, who believed in us in the beginning and gave us our start back in 1996, are still with us today.

Our hard work has been recognized by Inc Magazine, who named us to the Inc 500, which ranks the 500 fastest growing companies in the U.S.

We offer many unique services not available to builders through other channels. The company provides in-house structural design layouts, analysis, and other engineering services. We have licensed engineers in many markets. An exception to this is in North Carolina, where we subcontract the work to licensed independent consulting engineers. We have also pioneered the development of automated material handling equipment and design software that has reduced construction costs and cycle time for our customers.

From our humble beginnings to the present, our goal has been to be recognized by our customers and by the industry as the best provider of engineered lumber products in the world. Our colleagues at Case Engineered Lumber are as dedicated as ever in pursuit of this goal.
